It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu'minin, Abu Hafs 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, 'Actions are (judged) by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated.'" In this episode Shaikh Abdur Raheem Green talks about the Preservation of the Sayings of the Prophet (PBUH), the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad & how important the Sunnah & the example of the Prophet Muhammad is in understanding the religion of Islam. It’s really essential to it. In fact we find that many of the most important & essential basic acts of worship in Islam would not be fully defined just by reference to the Quran. It has to have the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him). it is a very extensive subject but all of this is to assure us, that when we say "Hadith of the Prophet is authentic, it’s Sahih" you can be sure that it is something that the Prophet Muhammad really did say or he really did do. That’s it.
