(1) 1. The mutual competition in (worldly) increase diverts you,
(2) 2. Until you visit the graves (i.e., die and remain in the graves temporarily until your Day of Resurrection and Judgment).
(3) 3. But no! You shall soon come to know,
(4) 4. Again no! You shall soon come to know.
(5) 5. No indeed! If you had known with a certain knowledge,
(6) 6. That you shall most certainly see Hell;
(7) 7. Then you shall most certainly see it with an eye of certainty;
(8) 8. Then on that Day you shall most certainly be questioned about (all) the favors (of God, that He has lavished upon you during your lives).
