83 - Al-Mutaffifin ()

|

(1) 1. Woe to the defrauders,

(2) 2. Who, when they take measure (of their dues) from people, take in full;

(3) 3. But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they (give less and) cause loss.

(4) 4. Do they not think that they will be resurrected (and raised from the dead),

(5) 5.For a Momentous Day.

(6) 6. The Day when all people will stand before (Allah) the Lord of all that exists.

(7) 7. But no! Most surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjeen.

(8) 8. And what will make you know what Sijjeen is?

(9) 9. It is a register (fully) inscribed.

(10) 10. Woe on that Day to the deniers,

(11) 11. Those who deny the Day of Recompense.

(12) 12. And none denies it except every sinful transgressor,

(13) 13. When Our Verses (of the Qur'an) are recited to him, he says: 'Tales of the ancients'.

(14) 14. No! Rather, what they used to do has placed rust upon their hearts.

(15) 15. No! Most surely they will on that Day be veiled from (seeing) their (real) Lord(Allah).

(16) 16. Then most surely they will enter the burning Fire (of Hell).

(17) 17. Then it will be said (to them): This is what you used to deny.

(18) 18. No! Most surely the record of the righteous is (preserved) in Iliyyeen.

(19) 19. And what will make you know what Iliyyeen is?

(20) 20. (It is) a written record,

(21) 21. (Which is) witnessed by those who are drawn near (to Allah, the angels).

(22) 22. Most surely the righteous shall be in Bliss,

(23) 23. On thrones (of dignity), they will command a sight (of all things);

(24) 24. You will recognize in their faces the radiance of Bliss.

(25) 25. Their thirst will be satisfied with a pure drink, that is sealed.

(26) 26. Whose seal is musk; for that let (all) those who strive, strive!

(27) 27. And whose mixture is water of Tasneem (the highest spring in Paradise),

(28) 28. A spring from which drink those who are drawn near to Allah (I.e., the believers).

(29) 29. Surely those who committed wicked acts used to laugh at those who believe.

(30) 30. And when they pass by them, they wink at one another (in mockery).

(31) 31. And when they return to their people, they return jesting.

(32) 32. And when they see (the believers), they say: ‘Most surely these are astray;’

(33) 33. And they (the disbelievers) had not been sent to be keepers over them.

(34) 34. But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers;

(35) 35. (Sitting) on thrones, they will command a sight (of all things).

(36) 36. Have the disbelievers (this Day, not) been justly recompensed for all (the evil) they used to do.
